SAP Hybris chooses Sydney for third global data centre

"SAP Hybris has selected Sydney for its third global data centre, its first in the Asia-Pacific region and its first to be built since 2013. Company president Carsten Thoma formed Hybris as an e-commerce start-up in the dotcom boom before it was acquired by SAP in 2013, and said he recognised Australia was ahead of much of the world for digital transformation. “That’s something that became very obvious to us, even before the SAP transaction,” Mr Thoma told The Australian. “The reason in particular was also obvious. You’re a huge continent, a huge country with some large metropolitan areas and then rural areas that you have to bridge with automation and technology. “Australia’s one of the key areas for us and we want to double down on our investment there, and double down on our technology partnerships.”" - View full article here
