A comprehensive package of ALE (Application Link Enabling) business processes lets you operate a Human Resources Management (HR) system on a database that is closely linked with an R/3 System running the logistics (LO) and accounting modules. The HR system you use must be a centralized system. The integration with one LO/accounting and several accounting-only systems is supported starting in Release 4.5A. If you integrate a standalone 4.5A HR system with an LO/accounting system with an earlier release (such as 3.1), then the available ALE business processes are determined by the oldest respective release.
The HR is closely linked with your LO/accounting system through BAPIs (Business Application Programming Interfaces). These BAPIs support synchronous communication between systems, such as real-time data checks. The supplementary technology of the IDocs (Intermediate Documents) support asynchronous communications, e.g. to post data.
You maintain your HR master data and organizational data in the central HR system. Certain business processes are implemented by replicating HR master/organization data in the LO/accounting system. You will also have to distribute LO and accounting master data to the HR system.
