Revelation Software Concepts Introduces Powerful New Add-on Suite with Extensions for Change Control of SAP Solutions

New modular Rev-Trac Add-on Suite provides email approvals, Web services, impact analysis, non-ABAP transport protection and more for flagship change control solution

Las Vegas, NV – September 9, 2008 - Revelation Software Concepts Pty Ltd (RSC), an SAP® software solution partner, today announced the Rev-Trac® Add-on Suite, expanding and extending to new areas the company’s Rev-Trac change control solution for SAP solution-based business information systems. The add-on components enable implementation of powerful new functionality in response to the growth in size and complexity of SAP solution-based landscapes. At the same time, the initiative enables RSC to meet customers’ needs with optimized pricing for highly customizable functionality. Today’s announcement was made at SAP TechEd 2008 Las Vegas, where RSC is exhibiting in booth 73.

The components in the new suite meet specific system management needs created by trends RSC has tracked for several years as key drivers in the expanding adoption of third-party system change control solutions in support of SAP applications. Bringing these innovations together as Rev-Trac add-ons implemented through the prerequisite Rev-Trac Extension Package (RT-xPack) gateway allows RSC customers to maintain a single, central management approach to change control as organizations expand their SAP solution-based systems, implement new stacks and add non-ABAP™ based components.

Key elements in the new Rev-Trac add-on suite include:

RT-xPack
RT-xPack, the Rev-Trac Extension Package, serves as the required gateway for the new add-ons, providing the internal interfaces and direct data channels required to interconnect and coordinate the new capabilities as organizations extend their baseline Rev-Trac change control solution. The RT-xPack itself provides valuable new capabilities, including a web-based graphical user interface (GUI) for ten concurrent users together with connections needed for auditable email-based change approvals. It also provides access to two complementary users of the powerful RT-Analyze add-on. With RT-xPack in place, customers can implement all the other optional add-ons and extensions as they need them, when they need them.

RT-xDeploy
RT-xDeploy, the Rev-Trac Deployment Manager add-on, extends Rev-Trac change management to the newer components of mixed-technology-stack SAP solution-based systems. Managing change in increasingly mixed technology environments has been an emerging issue for customers utilizing the newer mix of technology components, particularly Java components for those using the SAP NetWeaver® technology platform, SAP NetWeaver Portal or SAP NetWeaver Exchange Infrastructure (SAP NetWeaver XI) components. RT-xDeploy provides an alternative method of handling change packages for SAP solutions in the absence of the Enhanced Change and Transport System (CTS+) of the SAP NetWeaver Application Server (SAP NetWeaver AS) component, SAP NetWeaver Application Server (SAP NetWeaver AS) component or if deployments not handled by CTS+, such as the SAP NetWeaver Master Data Management (SAP NetWeaver MDM) component, are needed. RT-xDeploy provides SAP and Rev-Trac customers an opportunity to package non-ABAP-based change packages onto Rev-Trac and have Rev-Trac immediately deploy dual-stack or single-stack ABAP and non-ABAP such as Java or mixed Java-based transports to any combination of destinations.

RT-OOPS+
RT-OOPS+, the Rev-Trac non-ABAP OOPS™ Analyzer add-on, makes Rev-Trac’s innovative OOPS (Overwrite & Overtake Protection) for ABAP programming language components available to identified non-ABAP packages that are managed either by CTS+ or RT-xDeploy. Non-ABAP packages include Java packages but will also extend to other non-ABAP packages as SAP systems evolve.

RT-Connect
RT-Connect, the Rev-Trac Web Services and Interfaces add-on, makes it easy to integrate Rev-Trac with third-party applications such as help desks, testing tools and other third-party software using Web services. It provides all outbound interfaces and connections needed for bidirectional data integration.

RT-Impact
Through integration between Rev-Trac and Panaya, the RT-Impact (Rev-Trac Panaya Impact Analysis)

add-on highlights otherwise unpredicted system impacts from changes made to systems running SAP solutions. RT-Impact searches the entire SAP configuration and identifies what other areas (like sales or financial) would be affected by a given change. Based on the level of impact identified, change control process decisions can be made. The unmatched system visibility developed by Panaya becomes part of the in-line change management process and Rev-Trac’s automated and enforced change control process, and thus eliminates unpredicted system impacts due to changes. The add-on utilizes the fully integrated solution as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS).

RT-Analyze
RT-Analyze, the Rev-Trac Change Control Reporting add-on, provides, in one place, powerful, interactive change control reporting and intelligence across SAP solutions. Its interactive, cross-application reporting provides essential information to change control teams and managers who want to see changes across the SAP application-based environment. It highlights potential bottlenecks, team loading and other real time change control information to enable best practices change management. Features of RT-Analyze include advanced caching to minimize queries against static data, plus a complete suite of administrative functions. Users can drill down from master views through freely selectable data points to 32 levels and order reports, either remotely in real-time over the Internet or by return email.
